So far, so good?

Over the years we hear about new disasters that will kill us all off. We see people making a big song and dance about it but after some time it all slowly fades away a gets forgotten.

This blog will keep some sort of log of all the different predictions that come out of the news and media.

From what I can remember we have had a number of possible doomsday events talked about over the years. Some that come to mind are listed below.

Nuclear War
The New Ice AgeMillennium Bug
Meteor Impact
Nanotechnology and Gray Goo
Disappearing O-Zone Layer
Deep Sea Methane Gas Release
Man Made Virus Outbreak
Small Pox Outbreak
Antibiotic Resistant Super Bug
Bird Flu Pandemic
Extinction of Bees
Middle East Meltdown
Terrorism

And some more that we could be seeing more of in the future.

Economic Collapse
Coastal Erosion
Food Shortages
Water Shortages
Energy Shortages
Mineral Shortages
Peek Oil
Over Population
Global Pollution

And some that I think are currently being given a lot of media coverage.

Global Warming
Climate Change
Rising Sea Levels

We all see these doomsayers prophesying about the end of the world and we read their books and newspaper articles, watch their TV programs and see them on the news. But when the threat fails to materialize and has gone away and the world keeps on turning as normal, what happens to the doomsayers, do they go and hide away until they can dream up a new disaster for us all to fear about?
